Round 6 RECO, PAT and TopTree production

  • This page describes the details for the creation of the ISR/FSR fastim systematic samples. They are based on the config files made by Pedro Silva. He produced privately 100k of events (higher and lower ISR/FSR and nominal sample). We will make 10 to 20 times more.

Generation of the events

  • The cmssw version used for the generation of the events is CMSSW_2_2_6. One should make sure that he/she has not a modified FastSimulation package. We use version V01-07-95-29 of the FastSimulation/Configuration. Execute following lines in your CMSSW_2_2_6 environment:
 
cd CMSSW_2_2_6/src 
mkdir FastSimulation
cd FastSimulation
cp -r /user/villella/pythia/CMSSW_2_2_6/src/FastSimulation/* .
cd ..
scramv1 b
  • You can find the config files to generate the events in following locations. The nominal file comes from Ilaria while the files with altered settings are coming from Pedro.
/user/jmmaes/CMSSW/CMSSW_2_2_6_PATProduction/CMSSW_2_2_6/src/FastSimulation/production
  • When submitting the crab_pythia.cfg file don't forget to uncomment/comment the correct variables. We use CRAB_2_5_0 since later versions are incompatible with CMSSW_2_2_6.
    • large ISR/FSR: Joris
    • small ISR/FSR: Petra
    • nominal: Ilaria

Patification of the events

  • PatTuples are made according to the R4 recipe. This is the recipe used for the R3 fullsim samples and the R4 (=R5) fastsim samples
