Initialisation

• Connect serial cable
• Setup minicom (serial port setup)
  • device: /dev/ttyS0
  • baudrate: autodetect
  • 8N1
  • no flow control
• exit config screen and wait till it connects
  • by default no password is set, so none is propmted for
• set password

  • manager prompt

• • operator prompt

• • go from operator to manager: enable
  • go back: exit
• use menu
  • change passwords first (go to Console Passwords)
  • enable IP in Switch Configuration - IP Configuration
• you can now connect to the switch using the webbrowser
  • loginname is decided based on password (if none is given)
